Wonderful Workhorse Light. Havin used on long 600K Brevet, the beam pattern and uniform blanket of light is very much usable. the battery backup too is wonderful.
And at a single click to change to full power irrespective the running mode is so so useful in a jiff.

It would honestly get 5 stars if I didn’t have to enter a phone number to use the app. I ended up not using it anyways because the stock settings work for me. Light is bright and the remote is very helpful with how I mounted the light. Highly recommend. The high beam is stellar feature.

This light properly charges from USB-C. I mention that first, because a lot of other lights won't. Magicshine properly implemented the PD specification here, bravo! Beam width leaves a bit to be desired. At its best, it's only about as wide as a car lane with no real peripheral light beyond that. I'd relegate it to riding on bike/mixed use paths, or where you have streetlights to provide additional illumination. It's not ideal for full darkness nighttime riding. My pictures show, in order: Mounting with a phone clamp on top. Low-beam in a well-lit urban area. Low beam and high beam on a dark and narrow residential street. The same, but in portrait orientation to show the light cast down around the wheel. (All low-beam pictures were on full brightness.) Vertically, the beam is very well-controlled. Low beam has a very strong cutoff along the top, to prevent blinding oncoming traffic or pedestrians. High beam does a good job of casting light far ahead. It's difficult to show in pictures, but it does make quite a difference. There's also a dim splash of light thrown downwards, illuminating the area right around your wheel. The mounting solution is excellent. It's plastic, but very stiff and sturdy. I attached a phone mount on top, and it didn't have any issues with the weight. A bike computer should cause no problems. My only complaint is, there are only two shims included. Even the smaller one was too large for my older bike. Thankfully I had some spares from other lights. Battery life is pretty good. With my short commuting, it lasts about two weeks. Most of my use is on the highest brightness setting for low beam, with some high-beam usage. Note that you get locked out of some modes when the battery gets very low (flashing red). I'd suggest charging as soon as the light goes solid red. The app is pretty barebones, but doesn't require any sort of sign-in. You could really go without ever using it, unless you want to set some custom brightness settings. A remote seemed silly at first, but it's actually very handy. Toggling the high beam is what I use it for most, but turning the light on and off or changing brightness while keeping your hands on the bars is very useful. I have two complaints, though. One, the buttons are labeled with a circle and square with no real explanation. A trip to the manual is needed to figure them out. Secondly, and the worst part, the mounting system is ridiculous, mostly because the velcro strap they provide is absurdly long. It's also just fiddly in general. I've reviewed another Magicshine light (Ray 1600B) with the same remote, and complained there were no instructions for how to fit the remote. With this model, they've included some, so it seems they may be listening! Back on build quality, this thing is rugged! The light's body is aluminum, with a tough plastic endcap on the rear. I've had it in some heavy rain for extended periods, and it shrugged it off easily. This is a very nice light, although I would really only recommend it for urban use where you have some ambient illumination. For anything more serious, it really needs a wider beam. That aside, it's built very well, has good battery life, and does a good job of shaping the beam vertically.

Initially had a problem with my unit and magicshine addressed it very fast, I like the the different modes the flashlight can do and specially the low beam feature so I dont flash other cycling when riding on night time.

The Magicshine EVO 1300, however, was designed to be mounted below an out-front computer mount, and so it can have the best beam shape I've ever seen. I was shocked and delighted when I first turned it on, and again when I installed it on my bike. It's conical and perfectly even. It doesn't shine wastefully on your front tire, and it's wide enough that you can see into corners. If you're leaning the bike in faster turns, a cutoff beam won't illuminate the apex of the corner - but flipping on the EVO 1300's high-beam neatly fills in the gap when activated. You can turn it on when you need to and save battery the rest of the time. Even with the high-beam on, the light pattern is so neat, clean, and crisp - I really don't want to use anything else, at least on-road. The extra work Magicshine put into the custom optics really paid off. Lots of thoughtful details. Surprisingly lightweight and compact, but not at the expense of build quality - nicely-anodized aluminum, soft to the touch. The two-part button is on the bottom, out of view, but it's easy to distinguish the front and rear buttons by feel. The USB-C port has the biggest, beefiest rubber flap I've ever seen. When you change lighting modes, the light even ramps the brightness up or down smoothly. The proven Garmin quarter-turn mount is more stable than many proprietary attachments. This light even includes the pictured out-front mount, which I didn't expect.

This lights up the bike path super good and does not blind oncoming traffic I've gotten several comments and even stopped by other bikers lol! Just to talk about it. It's got a place to mount a GPS speedometer too. Very cool I would highly recommend this product!!

This is the Best light I've tried, and I've tried a Lot of 'em. I explain at length why its my favorite in the video, but I'll briefly list why here. 1. The mount. It takes up almost no space on the bar. It gets the light out in front of gear and brake lines. Super easy to remove light for charging. Adds mount for optional bike computer. Lightweight. Beam angle easily adjustable. 2. Super bright. 3. Beam pattern is superior. 4. High beam for vacant roads, low beam for oncoming traffic. Easy switch back and forth. 5. Battery life. 6. REMOTE! It seems silly at first, but then you realize it makes all the difference. Trust me. You will love the remote. 7. Quality build. 8. Price. I'm surprised it doesn't cost significantly more. 9. 2 yr warranty. It even comes with a phone app for additional customization of intensity settings, and flashing sequences. I review a lot of products, let me just say that it is a real pleasure to get a product that really knocks it out of the park. Kudos to Magicshine. In my video the camera automatically adjusted exposure so you can't tell the difference in intensity modes, but the difference is there.

I've tried so many different head lights on my commuter, and this is my new favorite. I was running a bigger, heavier light, that was brighter, but, perhaps excessively so. What that light did have that this lacks, is an led countdown timer, showing you exactly how much battery you have remaining through run time or charge percentage, dependent on which light mode you're using. However, I find this light casts optimal brightness in these New York City streets (mostly Brooklyn), throwing an optimal beam, to light the road, while allowing a simultaneous pulse/ flash to enhance your visibility. I wouldn't mind if the flash mode could pulse at a higher frequency, but on my first several rides at night, it's performed admirably.

High output light with multiple pre-programmed modes. Low, Medium, High, and "Turbo," as well as two flashing modes. You apparently can program more features by using the app and pairing it to the light. However, I did not find the app or the process to be very intuitive so scrapped the idea. Bluetooh remote control held onto handlebar by velcro; not a very high end touch for the price of this light.

The EVO-1300 is a highly functional and powerful lamp that provides excellent nighttime visibility. I can clearly see the road ahead even in dark conditions. While the EVO-1700 may offer higher performance, the EVO-1300 stands out with its more aerodynamic and stylish design.

In one word - excellent!
The light is bright,, adjustable, has a pleasant color (not too cool), wide, pretty conistent beam. High beam is very useful on dark descents and to signal to oncoming traffic to take their own high beams down.
The size is tiny for such a performer, less weight than my old lights, as well. The all-metal housing feels like a tailored suit, and is sturdy, too.
The mounting kit is complete and versatile, it was the main reason for finding this light - I was looking for a mount that could hold my Garmin and a light at the same time - ideal!
The remote is a nice gimmick I learned to love.
Some room for improvement:
Battery could be larger. You get a decent amount of run time as it is, but in cold temperatures you have to charge it quite often, even if you're using the medium power setting exclusively.
All in all a great buy, and a great experience riding in the dark now!
