The reason I decided to purchase the VTG-1000 was... after seeing it installed on the Brompton CEO's bike during a visit to Tokyo. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations before purchasing, but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived.

1. There are world-renowned brands like Busch & Miller and Germany's Stvzo.
But no company makes lights specifically for Brompton.
2. The Brompton headlight was truly disappointing. I think the Brompton headlight is truly the worst. Does Brompton headquarters even realize how much glare it causes to other riders?
This model does something even Brompton headquarters doesn't.
Regardless of the reason, I think it's truly remarkable.
3. The anti-glare function is quite good.
4. The battery life is a bit disappointing, but it's reassuring that it can be used while charging.
5. The design is top-notch. At first, I was unfamiliar with the mount, which made me nervous, but upon first glance, it felt like a Lego piece, perfectly suited to my Brompton.
6. The remote control function (for whatever reason, it's amazing... these guys are truly geniuses.)
7. The DRL function. (How did they come up with this...? Amazing.)
8. The brightness can be adjusted with the dedicated app... it's truly amazing... really...
9. The design... the glare-free performance... the shape that matches the Brompton... the creation of an adventurous model that no other company has done... it's truly amazing...
10. My email conversation with the staff... was quite positive...

Now, I'll address my regrets.

1. When the DRL is on... there's a high-pitched noise.
2. It would be nice if the tail light were longer, like the stock Brompton, rather than mounted on the saddle.
3. The app lacks variety (I hope they'll customize various functions in the future.)
4. Finally... the software is so incredibly difficult...
I accidentally locked the remote control. I had no idea there was a way to lock and unlock the remote control.
Repairing a lost pairing seems simple, but it's actually quite difficult.
I just recently had a situation where I almost gave up on the remote control. It wouldn't work for days. But I finally managed to unlock it and re-pair it after talking to a staff member.
I really hope these methods are documented in the manual.

Finally, the key issue now is after-sales service and durability.
I think Brompton users are willing to buy this product, even though it's expensive.
It's a product they really needed.
If the durability and after-sales service are good,
I think it'll be such a great product that it'll be hard to believe anyone isn't buying it.

Great light set for my Brompton. It fits my C-Line perfectly, even with my Brooks saddle. Nice and bright without blinding oncoming traffic and changing modes with the integrated lever is a great touch.

Easy to install, convenient to use, beautiful and looks good.

Bought the Classic Black Kit. The sync feature is magic—one slide controls both lights. Brompton saddle mount is tool-free and secure. Looks OEM! Money well spent.

City/commute: 5 stars. Gravel trails: 3 stars. Beam is wide but lacks distance. Remote isn't glove-friendly. Stick to roads or buy a dedicated MTB light.

After a near-miss, I upgraded to this. 1000 lumens lights up dark canals like daylight. PelotonSync flash alerts distracted drivers. 38-hour runtime means I charge weekly. Best investment for safety!

Pros: Only 113g! No rattles on carbon frame. Cons: Mount adapter for T Line is sold separately. Charging cable is short. Still, the light output shames heavier competitors.

I ride at dawn. The DRL makes me visible without blinding others. The high CRI light shows true colors. Bonus: the metal button glows red when charging—no guessing!

Safety F.

The ring-shaped DRL is a game-changer. Drivers actually SEE me in daylight. High mode illuminates unlit bike paths like stadium lights. Quick-release lets me bring it indoors—no theft worries.

Folds flat with my Brompton in luggage! 2200mAh battery passes airport checks. Lasted 5 nights camping. Ocean Blue color turned heads. Minus 1 star: manual's translations are clunky.

The engineers GET folding bikes. No cables snagging when folded. Optics prevent light spill onto the hinge. Even the hex keys included fit Brompton bolts! Minor wish: thermal management gets toasty on high mode. Still, 5 stars.

C
Casual R.

Good: Easy install, bright beam, sleek design. Bad: Button is stiff with winter gloves. Taillight combo's saddle mount rattles on rough roads. At $100+, I expected perfection.

As a year-round cyclist, I needed reliability. This delivers: survives rain, cold, and vibrations. The lock function prevents accidental activation in my bag. Memory mode remembers my preferred setting. Perfect for city and trails!

G
Gadget G.

Pros: Build quality, beam precision, daylight visibility. Cons: App disconnects occasionally. Remote requires handlebar space. For pure plug-and-play, skip the app—it's fantastic standalone.

B
Brompton A.

Replaced my Lezyne 1000XL. This is lighter, brighter, and the Brompton mount is 10x better. The DRL ring gets cars' attention at dusk. USB-C charges fast. Only complaint: no included helmet mount.

B
Budget B.

Love: Compact size, instant mount/dismount, no glare. Gripes: $140 for the full kit hurts. Ocean Blue color scratches easily. Still, it's the only light that truly fits folded Bromptons. Buy during sales!

R
Rain R.

IPX6 waterproof? Tested in a monsoon. Worked flawlessly! The near-field optics light up potholes right in front of my wheel, which older lights missed. 38-hour runtime isn't marketing fluff—I charged it twice last month. FTR sync with my VTG taillight is seamless.

T
Tech G.

Pros: GentleBeam optics are legit—wide beam without glare. App customization is slick. Aluminum body feels premium. Cons: Charging port cover feels flimsy. Wish the battery indicator showed exact %. Still, best folding bike light I've owned.
